If you’re new to Chiropractic…

It’s important for us to explain things in advance so we can establish a successful partnership.

Chiropractic care is not a quick-fix, it is a process that involves a series of visits, with each one building on the one before.

Results depend on this therapeutic relationship going the distance, and timing of visits is crucial, so your understanding of who we are, what we do and why we do it is very important.

We want you to feel comfortable and confident you’re in the right place so please read ahead so you know what to expect.

People usually see a Chiropractor because…

1) They are experiencing pain, discomfort or limitation and need relief

2) They feel good but understand the importance of optimal spinal function in maintaining good health

First Visit - New Patient Initial Consultation

(allow 45 mins for this appointment and also arrive 10 mins prior to complete paperwork)

After completing paperwork regarding your health history you’ll meet our Chiropractor who will review your file, ask questions and discuss your areas of concern to help evaluate your condition.

A comprehensive assessment including structural analysis, relevant neurological/orthopaedic testing will be carried out to determine the underlying cause of your concerns.

Treatment will usually commence at this visit after you and the Chiropractor discuss your consent form and cover any questions you may have. In some cases more info may be needed to correlate your findings before treatment or you may need to be referred to another professional for an opinion. You may be given a written referral for radiological imaging (eg bulk-billed X-rays) to gather more information or support exam findings.

At your first appointment you’ll be given home care recommendations and initial scheduling advice.

*Returning patients who have not attended practice for more than 6 months may also need to complete updated paperwork and consent form

Second/Third Visit

(allow 30 mins for this appointment)

Your Chiropractor will review and explain findings of any Xray imaging you may have been referred for, discuss your health goals and continue/commence treatment. Following this visit your Chiropractor can formulate an individualised care plan based on your findings which they will go on to discuss/deliverin your Report of Findings visit during which your specific case and treatment options are discussed extensively based on previous testing/Xray indicators/functional and subjective response to initial treatment/s. Scheduling and recommendations for home care, posture and prescribed exercises are also discussed. These are important visits in understanding your path forward.
